- Fuel caps will not interchange due to tank design.
- S series tanks with like cap design will interchange.
- S series tanks will not interchange with H series tanks.
- H2/A/B tanks are interchangeable except for caps/cap design features.
- KH tanks will interchange with earlier model, like series, except cap design.
- All H1 series tanks have petcock underside, center.  All others are left side.
- '69-'70 H1 tanks have scalloped sides, H1A do not.
- H2C tank is longer than H2B tank
